
BIOGRAPHY
Recognized for her expressive playing and virtuosity, Çağıl Cansu Şanlıdağ has built a career marked by rigor and musical sensitivity, leading her to perform on numerous European stages.
Trained at the Dokuz Eylul Conservatory in Izmir from the age of seven, she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Mons and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel under the guidance of Dalia Ouziel and Aleksandar Madzar, before refining her interpretation within the Postgraduate program at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna with Markus Hadulla.
She regularly collaborates with ensembles such as I Musici Bruscellencis, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Northern Cyprus, and the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. Her playing, appreciated for its technical finesse and emotional depth, has been heard in cities such as Brussels, Paris, Vienna, and Florence.
Passionate about rediscovering repertoire, she is committed to bringing lesser-known or forgotten works to light, notably through her collaboration with violinist Philippe Graffin on previously unpublished pieces by Ysaÿe.
A frequent guest at major festivals, she has performed at the Musicorum Festival, the International North Cyprus Music Festival, the Festival des Dames, Traces Festival, the Music Chapel Festival, the Concerts de Midis in Brussels, BxlSurScène, Conservamus, and the Knokke Music Festival, among others.
Dedicated to the transmission of knowledge, she teaches at Near East University in Cyprus and leads masterclasses at the Gümüşlük Academy and the International Music Academy Forte. She is also a sought-after accompanist, collaborating in sessions led by Anne Gastinel, Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson, Philippe Graffin, Jeroen Reuling, and Olsi Leka, and participating in major international competitions such as the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen, Buchet International Cello Competition, International Kreutzer Competition and the Grumiaux Competition.
Her debut solo album, recorded with Pavane Records, will be released on April 1st, marking a new milestone in her artistic journey.
